The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP benefits) continues to operate under the 2024 values ​​until next September 30. The amount each beneficiary household receives depends on many factors, among which stands out the number of people who live together and will require the allowance to make ends meet with nutritious and delicious food on the table.

As we said, these allocation amounts are valid until September 30, 2024, which is when the fiscal year ends. From October 1, 2024, the values ​​will be updated to face inflation using the cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) and, although the final percentage has not been announced, it is expected to be around 2.5%.

Since we’re already entering the second half of September, by this day of the month, several states have already finished disbursing their benefits. However, there are numerous states and territories that still have beneficiaries to send their money to.

The full calendar of SNAP benefits distributions – September 2024

If you haven’t received your funds into your electronic benefits transfer (EBT) card, your state might be in the upcoming list:

  1. Alabama
    • In Alabama, SNAP payments are distributed from the 4th to the 23rd of each month. Beneficiaries are grouped by the last two digits of their case number, which determines what day of the month they will receive their benefits. Beginning September 14, payments will continue for those whose case number ends in the digits 50-99, ending September 23.
  2. Arkansas
    • Arkansas residents who receive SNAP are grouped by the last digit of their Social Security number (SSN). September payments are extended through the 13th, but there will be no more distributions between September 14 and 30.
  3. California
    • In California, SNAP payments are issued during the first 10 days of each month, based on the last digit of the recipient’s case number. For those receiving SNAP in California, there will be no more payments issued after September 10.
  4. Georgia
    • Recipients in Georgia receive their benefits between September 5 and 23. The payment schedule is based on the last two digits of the beneficiary identification number. For the period from September 14 to 23, those whose identification numbers end between 50 and 99 will receive their payments.
  5. Illinois
    • Illinois uses a tiered payment system for households receiving SNAP. Payments are issued between the 1st and 20th of the month, based on the last digit of the head of household’s identification number. Payments will continue from September 14 to 20 for those whose ID numbers end in 6, 7, 8, 9 or 0.
  6. Indiana
    • In Indiana, payments are distributed from the 5th to the 23rd of each month. Beneficiaries are grouped by the first letter of their last name. Starting September 14, those whose last names begin with the letters M to Z will receive their benefits, ending September 23.
  7. Iowa
    • In Iowa, SNAP payments are distributed from the 1st to the 10th of each month, meaning there will be no more payments for the rest of September.
  8. Kentucky
    • In Kentucky, beneficiaries are grouped by the last digit of their case number. Payments are issued from September 1 to 19. Payments that occur after September 14 are for those with case numbers ending in 6, 7, 8, and 9, ending September 19.
  9. Louisiana
    • In Louisiana, SNAP payments are extended through the 23rd of each month and are distributed based on the last digit of the SSN. Starting September 14, those whose SSNs end in 6, 7, 8, and 9 will receive their payments.
  10. Maine
    • SNAP recipients in Maine receive their benefits between the 10th and 14th of each month, depending on the last digit of their date of birth. By September 14, people born on days ending in 5 and 6 will receive their payments.
  11. Michigan
    • In Michigan, SNAP payments are distributed from September 3 to September 21, grouped by the last digit of the recipient’s identification number. Starting September 14, payments will be made for those whose ID numbers end in 6, 7, 8 and 9.
  12. Mississippi
    • Payments in Mississippi continue through September 21. Beneficiaries are grouped by the last two digits of their case number. Starting September 14, those whose case numbers end in 59-99 will receive their benefits.
  13. Missouri
    • In Missouri, payments are issued from the 1st to the 22nd of each month, grouping recipients by month of birth and the first letter of their last name. Payments after September 14 are for people born in September, October, November and December, depending on the initial letter of their last name.
  14. Montana
    • In Montana, payments are issued between the 2nd and 6th of each month. There will be no more payments in September after the 6th.
  15. Nebraska
    • In Nebraska, SNAP payments are distributed between the 1st and 5th of each month, based on the last digit of the head of household’s SSN. There will be no more payments this month.
  16. Nevada
    • SNAP payments in Nevada are issued between the 1st and 10th of each month, based on the last digit of the beneficiary’s year of birth. This means that there will be no more payments in Nevada for the remainder of September.
  17. New Mexico
    • In New Mexico, payments are distributed between September 1 and September 20, grouped by the last two digits of the SSN. Payments after September 14 are scheduled for those whose SSNs end in 88-99.
  18. Ohio
    • Payments in Ohio are issued September 2-20, grouped by the last digit of the case number. Starting September 14, payments will go to those whose case numbers end in 6, 7, 8 and 9.
  19. Texas
    • Texas distributes its SNAP benefits from September 16 to 28, grouped by eligibility determination group (EDG) number. Starting September 16, payments will continue until September 28 for different groups of beneficiaries.
  20. Wisconsin
    • In Wisconsin, payments are issued between the 2nd and 15th of each month, which means there will be no more SNAP payments after September 15.
  21. Wyoming
    • In Wyoming, payments are distributed from the 1st to the 4th of each month, based on the first letter of the beneficiary’s last name, so there will be no more payments for the remainder of September.

Territories

  1. Puerto Rico
    • Payments from the Nutrition Assistance Program (NAP) in Puerto Rico continue until September 22, grouped according to the last digit of the Social Security number. For beneficiaries whose SSNs end in the digits 7, 8, and 9, payments will be made from September 14 to September 22.
  2. Virgin Islands
    • In the Virgin Islands, SNAP payments are distributed between September 1 and 10, grouped by the last digit of the Social Security number. There will be no more payments for the remainder of the month.
