If you are an SSI beneficiary, check your account because in 20 days you could receive up to $1,450, if they are couples, the $967 if you apply as an individual, without a partner. Yes, you read that right, that is the amount approved by the Social Security Administration (SSA). The March payment will arrive on February 28, so don’t panic if you see the deposit sooner than expected.
Do you know why the advance? It turns out that March 1 falls on a weekend, and the SSA does not like to send money on non-gratus days (that is, holidays, Saturdays, or Sundays). That’s why they move the date to the nearest Friday. And this already happened in January with the February payment, which, in reality, arrived on December 31, 2024.
Social Security SSI payments come with an increase
Both the payment of $967 and $1,450, and also the payment of $484 (for the payment of an essential help person) increased by 2.5% based on the cost of living adjustment that increases payments and allowances to address the increase in prices of products and services.
Be careful, don’t get confused: SSI and regular Social Security are distant cousins, not brothers. The first is for people with disabilities, low-income adults over 65, or children in special situations. The second depends on how much you have contributed to your job. So receiving one does not guarantee the other.

Three more payments for Social Security beneficiaries
In February 2025, things get interesting for those receiving Social Security. Get ready to mark your calendar because next week begins the round of three payments that happen on the second, third, and fourth Wednesdays.
This month three payments will be made, and the joy is palpable in the homes of the beneficiaries. The first payment will arrive on Wednesday, February 12, and will be for those whose birthday falls between the 1st and 10th of each month. So, if you have a birthday on those days, you will receive your money on time.
Then, the next group, which are those who have their birthdays between the 11th and the 20th, will see their money in the account on Wednesday, February 19. And to close the month, those who have birthdays between the 21st and the end of the month will have their payment on Wednesday, February 26. So, if you know what your turn is, get ready to enjoy those funds for which you worked so many years.
