Several Social Security checks will arrive this week for many of the beneficiaries, if your birthday falls on certain dates, this might interest you, because it can include you. If not, you must wait until the end of the month. If you are not sure, we will give you the exact dates on which your money will arrive.
In the following paragraphs, we will tell you if you will receive a check this week. We help you know if you should receive a check this week, and how your payment date is stipulated by the Social Security Administration (SSA).
Two More Social Security Payments To Be Sent This month
Also, we remind you that there is an April 15 deadline to file taxes, so find out if you need to file them this year.
Next is the April schedule of when you should receive your Social Security check or SSI money.
- April 3: Social Security payments for people who have received Social Security since before May 1997.
- April 10th: Social Security payments for people whose birthdays fall between the first and tenth of a given month.
- April 17th: Social Security payments for people whose birthdays fall between the 11th and the 20th of a given month.
- April 24: Social Security payments for people whose birthdays fall between the 21st and 31st of a given month.”
Should I Pay Taxes Over My Social Security Payments?
Some Social Security beneficiaries must file taxes based on two main factors. First, your combined income determines whether any of your Social Security benefits will be taxable. For example, for single people, heads of household or widows, if your combined income exceeds $25,000 a year, part of your benefits may be taxable. For couples filing jointly, if their combined income exceeds $32,000 a year, they may also face taxes on part of their Social Security benefits.
The second factor is the marital status for the purposes of the declaration. Depending on how they file the return (either individually or jointly), up to 50% of the benefits may be taxable if their combined income exceeds certain limits. In the case of separate returns, you may also have to pay taxes on your Social Security benefits. To calculate whether they should pay taxes, half of the Social Security benefits are added to the “adjusted gross income” (AGI) and any other non-taxable income, and the total is compared with the income thresholds mentioned above.
How is my Social Security payment date stipulated?
Social Security normally sends payments on the second, third, and fourth Wednesday of each month. The day you receive your check payment depends on your birthday.
- If your birthday is between the first and tenth of the month, your payment will be sent on the second Wednesday of the month.
- If your birthday falls between the eleventh and twentieth of the month, your payment will be sent on the third Wednesday of the month.
- If your birthday falls between the twenty-first and thirty-first of the month, your payment will be sent on the fourth Wednesday of the month.
For those who are SSI beneficiaries, payments normally arrive on the first of each month, with some exceptions.
If you have been a Social Security recipient before May 1997, or receive both SSI and Social Security, your payment schedule is different. You do not receive your payments on a Wednesday, but rather you will receive your Social Security payment on the third day of each month and your SSI payment on the first day of each month.
These mentioned dates may vary if the first or third day of the month falls on a weekend or holiday. For example, March 3rd fell on a Sunday, therefore, social security beneficiaries received their payment for the month of March two days in advance, on March 1st.

What to Do if Your Check Does Not Arrive on the Established Date?
If your check does not arrive on the stipulated date mentioned above, Social Security always recommends giving at least three days of time to contact you.
If your check still hasn’t arrived after three days, contact a representative at 800-772-1213. (The SSA indicates that wait times are shortest Wednesday through Friday and between 4 p.m. m. and 7 p.m. m. Monday to Friday).
