The Social Security Administration (SSA) payment schedule is about to begin once again in the month of August. As you know, the agency sends five monthly payments usually each month, but there are a few months that include an advance payment for the following month.
On August 1, senior beneficiaries of the Supplemental Security Income (SSI) program will receive their next payment corresponding to that month, but that is not all: on August 30 they will receive another payment. Why are there two payments? That is due to a peculiarity of the SSA calendar.
The agency does not send deposits or checks on holidays or weekends, and since September 1st falls on a Saturday, payment is advanced to the nearest business day, in this case being August 30th.
As things stand, the next payment for SSI beneficiaries, after this check, is October 1, which falls on a Tuesday.
