Following the calendar of the Social Security Administration, the month of June still has a couple of pending payments to be made. One of them is actually changed because it is a holiday and here we will tell you what you need to know.
These are payments for beneficiaries of the Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) group that shares a date with Social Security retirement beneficiaries. Payments are usually made on the second, third and fourth Wednesday of each month. However, the second Wednesday coincides with the date of Emancipation Day, which is June 19, also called Juneteenth.
So, on June 18 (Tuesday), those people who turn 11 to 20 of any given month will receive their payments, both those who receive Social Security retirement payments and those who receive SSDI benefits.
The Social Security Administration (SSA) has a few important payments scheduled for the month of June, including adjustments due to the holiday. Here’s what you need to know to ensure you receive your benefits on time.
Payment Schedule for June
SSDI and Social Security Retirement Payments:
- Payments are typically issued on the second, third, and fourth Wednesdays of each month.
- Due to Juneteenth, observed on June 19, the payment schedule has been adjusted.
Adjusted Payment Dates:
- June 18 (Tuesday): Payments for beneficiaries born beteen the 11th and 20th of any month.
- June 26 (Wednesday): Payments for beneficiaries born between the 21st and 31st of any month.
These payments include both Social Security Retirement benefits and Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) benefits. Later on, there will be payments for a third group of the above-mentioned beneficiaries. it will be on June 26 and is for those people who turn between the 21st and the 31st of any given month.
Now we are already getting into the July calendar that will typically start on the 1st, which is the next payment date for supplemental Security income (SSI) beneficiaries. On that day, people who receive both SSI and Social Security will get their SSI payment, or that started receiving payments from before May 1997. In such case, SSI will arrive on July 1, while the other benefits will be delivered on July 3.
