Thousands of children whose families are in vulnerable economic situations take advantage of the food offered at school lunchrooms. That is why in the summer months, when these canteens are closed, children can fall into food risk.

Through the SUN Bucks program, these families with participating children will receive $120 in food shopping benefits in a one-time payment during the summer months of 2024.

Those children who are enrolled in SNAP Benefits, TANF, FDPIR are eligible, depending on their state of residence. Some states are also including children who are covered by Medicaid or who participate in free or reduced-price school meal programs.
