Samsung - 83” Class S90C OLED Smart Tizen TV (2023)

It’s absolutely normal that OLED TVs are much more expensive than regular LED TVs, but the ultra-high definition, great contrast, and vivid colors make every extra dollar you pay worth it. Such is the case of the 83-inch Samsung OLED S90C, which has an impressive resolution of 3,840 by 2,160 pixels, one of the lowest input lags on the market and one of the best image qualities within its category and price range.

Last year, Samsung dazzled with its S95C OLED model, which came with a pretty hefty price tag: $3,299.99 for the 65-inch model (and a whopping $5,399.99 for the 83-inch). Then its closest “relative” of a slightly lower range appeared, the S90C, which is almost as great as the other and its price is much more affordable (we’ll talk about that and the deals we found at Best Buy).

There is not much difference between the Samsung S90C and its older brother, as both offer a wide color spectrum and almost unmatched precision on the market, which other brands such as Philips or LG have tried to match, but have had difficulty catching up with Samsung in the leadership of OLED televisions.

The Samsung s90c and the Impressive Color Range of Its OLED Panel

The fantastic Samsung 83” Class S90C OLED seems straight out of the future, and in fact it looks high-end at a mid-range price. The top edge and sides are quite thin, although the bottom edge is slightly thicker, but it is practically not noticeable. A small rectangular bump in the bottom right corner displays the familiar Samsung logo, so discreet that you’ll barely notice it, even if you try really hard.

The entire design of this technological marvel is designed so that you focus on the screen and not be distracted by unnecessary details on the case or body, and so that it does not conflict with the room’s design where you are going to install it. It fits perfectly in a living room, in your games room with the PlayStation or Xbox, or even in the bedroom. The stand is simple and stylish, with a gray metal square that supports the screen with two sober and elegant metal legs.

You know, you look at it from the front and it’s elegant. Look at its sober, elegant and discreet edges. And if you look at it from the side, you will also notice a slender figure and you will understand that everything has been thought of in this beauty of an OLED television. The panel is razor-thin, just a fraction of an inch, with a dark brushed aluminum back that gives it an air of luxury. OLED panels, like the one on the S90C, don’t need LED backlighting because they emit their own light, allowing them to be this thin.

From the back it is quite flat, but you will find that all the electronic components are placed in a plastic box that protrudes from the bottom. There you will find all the ports and connections, as well as the holes to mount it on the wall with a standard VESA mount. Although it’s not as slim as the S95C, which has its tech magic in a separate box called OneConnect, the S90C is still super attractive. The power cable connects on the left side and all other ports come out from the right side: two HDMI (one of them eARC) and two USB facing right, and another two HDMI, an optical audio output, a port Ethernet, one 3.5mm EX-LINK port, and one antenna/cable connector facing downward.

The regular price of the Samsung 83” Class S90C OLED is $3,499.99, but Best Buy is setting the perfect price for a limited time: just $2,599.99 (or $108.34/mo, with their financing). Hurry up, because it won’t last forever.

The Samsung S90C Comes Equipped With the Tizen Smart TV Platform

The Tizen Smart TV ecosystem is one of the most praised on the market as it is reliable and user-friendly. When you turn on your TV, you’re greeted with a menu bar at the bottom of the screen, known as the “Smart Hub.” From there you can access all your favorite streaming and television applications such as Netflix, YouTube, Amazon Prime, Disney+, Paramount+, Max and others.

Through Tizen, you also have a built-in connection to other devices, such as Samsung smartphones, where you can mirror your phone’s screen with just a couple of taps. You can also use the TV to send content and more using the SmartThings app, which turns your phone into a remote control.
