According to the Social Security Administration (SSA) payment schedule, Supplemental Security Income (SSI) recipients will not receive a payment in March 2025. In various online forums, some have expressed concern that They will be left without money during that month.
However, this is due to an adjustment in the payment schedule, since SSI benefits are paid on the first day of each month. Now, when the 1st falls on a weekend or holiday, the payment is advanced to the last business day of the previous month. That was what happened in February, whose payment was advanced to January 31, and the same thing will happen again in March.
Why are these adjustments made? The SSA Explanation
Before continuing, keep in mind that some SSI beneficiaries receive their payments on a date other than the 1st of the month: these are beneficiaries who receive SSI in combination with Social Security. For this particular group, the payment date will be February 3rd.
As the SSA explains, through an official spokesperson, “these adjustments to the payment schedule are made to ensure that beneficiaries receive their payments on time, even if the regular payment day falls on a non-business day.”
We should also mention that the maximum payment that an individual beneficiary can access is $967 for the entire year 2025. Then, for those who are a couple and receive the allowance together, the maximum amount is $1,450. Lastly, the maximum allowance for an essential support person payment is $484 per month.
