How to increase Social Security payments in 2025

Social Security payments in April 2025 are distributed on various dates throughout the month of April, depending on the beneficiary’s criteria, such as date of birth or the special status of some particular programs. According to the Social Security Administration (SSA) itself, the schedule follows a pattern based on the grouping of beneficiaries on at least four dates, so that the program does not suffer from saturation or errors.

Some beneficiaries receive their payments this April 3, being the first of the month’s groups: these are those who receive Social Security retirement benefits claimed since before May 1997. Also in this group are surviving relatives of deceased beneficiaries who inherited the payments after death.
