This is because the energy bar brand has agreed to settle a class action lawsuit that alleged that the company had made misleading statements about the health properties of its bars. What the class action lawsuit alleges is that Clif Bar & Company had made statements that are not true on the labels of certain products. According to the class action website, the allegations say that Clif Bar labeled its bars with claims that they were healthy, when in fact they were not because of their added sugar content.

Clif Bar & Company has agreed to settle the class action lawsuit. However, it is vitally important to emphasize that Clif Bar has not admitted any wrongdoing or wrongdoing and that no court has said who is right, Clif Bar or those suing.

What Is the Class Action Agreement About?

Clif Bar & Company is going to fund $12 million to settle the lawsuit. This fund will be used to pay legal and administrative costs, as well as to proceed with cash refunds to clients who want to claim under the lawsuit.

How much money can I get?

If you are considered a member of the class action and have purchased at least one of the products that are included in the settlements, you will receive a cash payment. The amount of your cash payment will depend on whether you have proof of your purchase and how many Clif bars you purchased.

Regardless of whether or not they can provide proof of purchase, a group member will receive $5 if they purchased up to 30 bars, $10 if they purchased between 31 and 60 bars, and $15 if they purchased more than 60 bars.

If a party member provides proof of their purchases, they can pay you up to $15 for up to the first 60 bars and $0.25 for each additional bar over 60, up to a maximum cash payment of $50.

However, the class action website states that these amounts could change depending on how many people make a claim.

What products are included in the settlement?

Only purchases of Clif Bars for home use are included. Clif Bars purchased for resale or distribution are not included in the agreement. Original Clif bars with “Nutrition for Sustained Energy” packaging or labeling are included in the class action settlement.

Additionally, Clif Kid ZBars in packaging with claims including:

“Raising our family, it wasn’t easy finding nutritious snacks to grab and go for our kids. That’s why we created Clif Kid: healthy, delicious snacks made with organic ingredients to help kids move forward, grow and explore.”

“The combination of carbohydrates, fiber, protein and fat gives children the energy they need to continue moving forward and growing.” They are also included within the similar disputed claims, as identified in the Complaint in Action.

Clif bars must have been purchased between April 19, 2014 and March 31, 2023 if a class member is in New York or California, or between March 31, 2019 and March 31, 2023 if one member of the class is located in other parts of the United States.

If you want to be part of this agreement, you must make a claim. Requests can be submitted online at the lawsuit’s website or you can also submit a claim form by mail. Claims must be made before November 25, 2024 using the official website of the agreement.
