Beyond Meat agreed to a $7.5 million class action settlement to settle allegations that it overstated the protein content and quality of its products. The Beyond Meat settlement includes consumers who purchased certain Beyond Meat products on the dates of May 31, 2018 and August 14, 2024.
In the class action lawsuit, Beyond Meat exaggerated information about the amount of protein its products contained, while at the same time saying that the quality of the ingredients used were of higher quality than the actual ones. Consumers allege that they were misled by Beyond Meat’s advertising claims and tricked into purchasing and paying higher prices.

Beyond Meat is a brand that offers plant-based meat substitutes, which is distributed in stores such as Target, Whole Foods, Walmart, and others.
Beyond Meat did not accept any wrongdoing, but agreed to pay $7.5 million to settle the false advertising class action.
As part of the Beyond Meat settlement, class members can obtain $2 cash refunds for each Beyond Meat product they purchased during the class action period. Without proof of purchase, plaintiffs can receive up to $10 from Beyond Meat for five products. With proof of purchase, they have no maximum limit on refund payments. However, all payments may be minimized on a prorated basis if the value of the claim files exceeds the amount remaining in the net settlement fund. Class members can choose to receive payment via check, Venmo, PayPal, ACH, or Zelle.

The deadline for exclusion and objection, approaching, is November 29, 2024. The final approval hearing for the settlement has been scheduled for January 23, 2025. To obtain settlement payments from Beyond Meat, class members submit the valid claim form before April 14, 2025.

Approximately $10 is expected as a potential payment, proof of purchase is requested so you can claim this amount. However, proof of purchase is not required to sue for up to five purchases. Receipts, order confirmations or other proof of purchase are required to claim more.
