In the month of June 2024, when we have already reached the middle of the year and we are approaching a new reassessment for SNAP benefit increases based on inflation, several states are still distributing the payments of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP benefits), formerly known as food stamps.
In each state, payments are made in a staggered manner and vary from state to state according to the structure and payment capacity of each of them, as well as depending on the number of beneficiaries to whom they have to deliver the funds.
SNAP Benefits Still Being Disbursed in Dozens of States
Here we share with you a complete list of the states that continue to pay SNAP benefits in June 2024:
- Alabama: From June 4th to June 23rd.
- Arkansas: From the 4th to the 13th of June.
- California: Between June 1 and 10.
- North Carolina: From June 22 to July 3.
- South Carolina: From June 1st to 19th.
- Colorado: From June 1st to 10th.
- Connecticut: June 1-3.
- Delaware: From the 2nd to the 23rd of June.
- Georgia: From June 5th to 23rd.
- Hawaii: From June 3rd to 5th.
- Illinois: June 1st-10th.
- Indiana: June 5th-23rd.
- Iowa: June 1-10.
- Kansas: From June 1st to 10th.
- Kentucky: June 1-19.
- Louisiana: From June 1st to 23rd.
- Maine: From June 10th to 14th.

The Maximum SNAP Benefits You Can Access in 2024
September 30th is the last day that the current SNAP benefits amounts will be in force, since from that moment the CPI-W indicator will be taken into account to know if the allowances should be increased so that the beneficiaries do not lose purchasing power. Until that day, the maximum amounts that a household of one to eight beneficiaries can access are as follows depending on the size of the household:
- 1 person household: $291 (average $9.70 per day)
- 2 person household: $535 (average $8.92 per day)
- 3 person household: $766 (average $8.51 per day)
- 4 person household: $973 (average $8.11 per day)
- 5 person household: $1,155 (average $7.70 per day)
- 6 person household: $1,386 (average $7.70 per day)
- Household of 7 people: $1,532 (average $7.30 per day)
- 8 person household: $1,751 (average $7.30 per day)
- Each additional person: $219 (average $7.30 per day)
