Freepik announces a security breach in its database

This image bank provides free vector images, PSD files, icons and illustrations

The world's most popular image bank, Freepik, has informed its customers of a security breach "that has affected part of the internal database".

Through an email, the company has contacted its users to inform them of what has happened. They point out that only the customers' e-mail addresses have been compromised.

These customers are told that they "don't have to do anything", regretting the inconvenience and making themselves available through their support mail.

FREEPIK

Freepik acts under the motto "Graphic resources for everyone". It provides vector images, PSD files, icons and illustrations totally free. The destination of these images ends up in the design of a web page, banners or any other type of work that needs graphic resources.

Freepik was founded in 2010 by the brothers Alejandro and Pablo Blanes, along with their friend Joaquin Cuenca, founder of Panoramio (acquired by Google).

Alejandro had the idea of creating a platform where designers could find free graphic resources. Pablo and Joaquin supported the initiative and carried it out, thus laying the foundations of the Freepik Company. Since then, their Universe has been growing and they have incorporated two new projects: Flaticon and Slidesgo.
