King Juan Carlos I of Spain is in the United Arab Emirates
From the Royal House they confirm that the monarch has been in the Asian country since last August 3rd
King Juan Carlos I is in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). This has been officially confirmed by the Royal House on Monday. This announcement comes two weeks after his decision to move his residence out of Spain was made public.
«S. M. King Juan Carlos has indicated to the House of His Majesty the King to communicate that on the 3rd of August he moved to the United Arab Emirates, where he remains at present», is the brief communiqué that Zarzuela has made public, which does not clarify in which city he is and how long he intends to be in the Persian Gulf.
The King Emeritus was already captured in an image coming down from a plane in the airport of Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates) last 3rd. That same day he announced his departure from Spain, a photograph that Nius published a few days later.
Philip VI’s father explained at the time that he was leaving Spain «because of the public repercussions that certain past events are generating» in his private life. All this to make his son’s job as head of state easier.
ALLEGED DONATIONS IN THE MILLIONS
That announcement was weighed down by news of his friend Corinna Larsen and the investigations opened in Switzerland and in the Supreme Court’s Office into alleged donations of millions received from Saudi Arabia that were allegedly not declared to the Treasury.
Since the decision to leave Spain was made public, the whereabouts of the King Emeritus has been the subject of questions in the various appearances of the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, who wanted to make it clear that it was not up to him to reveal the fate of Juan Carlos I, but that this should be clarified by the person concerned or by Zarzuela.
