Valentino Rossi and Viñales save their lives in a miraculous way

Tremendous crash for Johann Zarco and Morbidelli could have caused misfortune to catch up with Valentino Rossi and Maverick Viñales

A great scare was experienced in the MotoGP race at the Austrian Grand Prix, the fourth round of the World Championship. Maverick Viñales and, above all, Italian Valentino Rossi (Yamaha) could have suffered a serious accident after the crash of Italian Franco Morbidelli (Yamaha) and Frenchman Johann Zarco (Ducati).

The touch on the eighth lap between these two riders sent them both to the ground. Even worse, it left their bikes out of control around the Austrian track. One of them rebounded with a lot of power and blew back onto the track just as Valentino Rossi and Viñales passed.

The two bikes passed close by, one of them very close to hitting 'Il Dottore', whose gestures and face when he arrived in the pit lane after the consequent red flag told of the fear that had passed in a tense moment, the second of the day after the one in Moto2.

The suspension of the race and its restart from the start was detrimental to the wishes of Spaniard Pol Espargaró (KTM), who was in the lead after a good first start.

At the start it was clear that Ducati, KTM and Suzuki were the strongest, unlike Yamaha who despite Viñales' pole position did not seem in a position to fight for the front positions.
