Miley Cyrus and Cody Simpson break up

American singer and actress Miley Cyrus and Australian singer Cody Simpson are no longer together after almost a year of dating

Just hours after rumors of a breakup began to surface, American singer Miley Cyrus confirmed that she and Cody Simpson have chosen to go their separate ways.

Miley Cyrus commented in a live show on Instagram: "So today it became known that my boyfriend and I have broken up. The rumors were already so strong that she had no choice but to go out on a limb.

"Was it confirmed by a 'reliable source'? No one is more reliable in a relationship than the individuals involved. Even so, right now, two halves cannot make a whole. We are working individually on ourselves to become the people we want to be, like everyone else at this age.

She went on to say about Cody, 23, "We are deciding who we want to be in our lives, what we want to do. Don't make it a dramatic story if we're going out for pizza next week. We've been friends for 10 years and we're going to stay friends, so don't make it into something it's not.

Miley Cyrus moved to Simpson in October last year after he separated from another famous Australian, Liam Hemsworth. She was married to Hemsworth for only eight months.

Miley's courtship began in October 2019, shortly after she walked away from Kaitlynn Carter, with whom she allegedly dated after her separation from Liam, but there was never any official confirmation.

"HE'S GOT TO BE GAY"

Before this, Miley Cyrus and Cody Simpson had known each other for years. Even he confirmed that he had been in love with the star since he was a child and she was still a child star. "I always had an affinity with her," he told The Project in October.

Shortly after they got together, Cyrus said Simpson made him realize that not all men were "evil.

Speaking about her new boyfriend to her millions of Instagram fans, the singer said she "thought he had to be gay. The reason was that she thought "all men were evil" before she entered into a relationship with Simpson, which seemed like a thinly veiled attack on Liam Hemsworth.
